Giordano International announced the following appointments on April 18, 2005:
Mr. MAH Chuk On, Bernard, presently General Manager (China) and Group Executive Director, has been appointed Executive Chairman - Tiger Enterprises (Hong Kong) and Group Executive Director - Global Business Development. In addition to his existing responsibilities overseeing Tiger Enterprises¡¦ overall business operations in China, Mr. Mah¡¦s new and expanded role will also see him responsible for developing overseas expansion opportunities for the Group¡¦s Retail and Distribution Division, mergers and acquisitions, and securing compatible overseas brands for marketing in China. Mr. Mah holds a bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Alberta in Canada and is a member of of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Prior to joining the Group in 1996, Mr. Mah gained 15 years of extensive experience in the industrial and commercial investment sectors and held senior government positions in accounting and auditing in Canada.
Mr. LUI Chi Hung, Alan, presently Group Financial Controller, has been named Group Chief Financial Officer. In his new role, Mr. Lui will be devoting more attention to the increasingly important area of corporate governance and compliance. Mr. Lui holds an MBA degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Master degree in Finance from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and an associate member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Certified General Accountants¡¦ Association of Canada. He joined the Group in 2002 and has over 22 years of experience in the finance and accounting fields.
Mr. HOU Tong, presently Director of Informational Technology, has been appointed Group Chief Information Officer. Mr. Hou and his team have built a world-class information system for Giordano. In his new and expanded role, Mr. Hou and his team will endeavor to take the system to the next level and turn it into a world-class decision support system. Mr Hou is a graduate of Zhong Shan University in China. He joined the Group in 1992 and has over 14 years¡¦ experience in the information technology field.
