Giordano International today announced the establishment of a manufacturing joint-venture with one of its long-standing suppliers. The joint venture is located in Dongguan, China, and will supply both the Group and third parties.

“By leveraging on our global information technology platform and linking up with an experienced quick response apparel manufacturer, the joint-venture will allow us to further improve our time to market and to react to demand changes faster than ever than before. The facility’s proximity will enable it to be integrated seamlessly into our network and play a useful role in our JIT supply chain management,” said Mr Peter Lau, Chairman and Chief Executive, Giordano International Limited.

“The initial setup has capacity for under 100,000 dozens per annum, but it is scalable to four times this number. We treat the joint-venture as a stand-alone concern and expect it to eventually derive most of its business from third parties. Giordano also has a minority interest in this new venture,” Mr. Lau added.
