Giordano is committed to being a successful and responsible corporate citizen. This means that we are committed not only to delivering quality products and service to our customers and strong and sustained financial performance to our shareholders, but that we are also committed to creating a positive impact in the communities where we conduct business. We aim to achieve this by, amongst others, supporting charitable organizations and causes; by ensuring that the workers producing our products are treated with fairness and respect; and at all times achieving our goals through environmentally friendly means.

Practically all major multi-national corporations now include a corporate social responsibility statement in their annual reports as a means to communicate to their stakeholders and the general public about their beliefs and stance on social responsibility. Giordano has always been committed to being a responsible corporate citizen but has not formally communicated this commitment. In view of the increasing attention that this issue is now receiving, we believe now is the right time for us to produce our own Corporate Social Responsibility Statement (see http://www.giordano.com.hk/web/hk/investors/social.html).

The statement is a simple and concise statement of our values, intentions and expectations. It serves as the foundation for us to monitor and improve on our performance in light of changes in local laws and regulations, trade practices and our risk assessment. The statement will be communicated to our operation teams and business partners and posted on our company website to keep the public informed. We will also update our stakeholders regularly on our performance.
